This year’s Crazy Hair & Sock Day for The Kids’ Cancer Project has been locked in – it’s Saturday 1st June!
Netball NSW is encouraging our netball community to once again join in the festivities by raising money from your crazy fundraising ideas to assist our Official Charity Partner in their fight to cure childhood cancer.
The Kids’ Cancer Project is also an official partner to the NSW Swifts, and will celebrate the The Kids’ Cancer Project Crazy Hair & Sock Round at Round 12 Swifts v Vixens on Saturday 10th August at the Quaycentre.
Since Crazy Hair & Sock Day began over eight years ago, the NSW netball community has rallied together by donning bright, colourful hair and socks to raise as much money as possible – and last year was the most successful so far.
In 2018, there was a record number of Associations who registered for the event (72), reaching its highest fundraising tally ever – over $70,000.
The Kids’ Cancer Project CEO, Owen Finegan, is excited for another year of fundraising with the community for a worthy cause.
“We are incredibly excited to be partnering with Netball NSW once again. This year marks the 11th year of our collaboration and five years of Crazy Hair & Sock Day raising money for childhood cancer research,” he says.
“The women representing the NSW Swifts are not only wonderful ambassadors for kids with cancer, they’re also incredible role models for girls across the State.
“I am always amazed by the level of support from the netball community; over the years they have contributed to raising $250,000 that has gone towards vital kids’ cancer research.
“This year’s Crazy Hair & Sock Day promises to be a great chance for everyone to dress up and have a bit of fun for a serious cause. And we hope it’s our biggest ever with 100 Associations throughout New South Wales getting out the coloured hairspray, wigs and bright socks for kids with cancer.”
